A 28-year-old woman has died only two days after liposuction surgery on her hips.
Diarra Akua Eunice Brown visited a clinic in Turkey for the procedure on October 22. She was then discharged one day later as there were no adverse reactions to the popular liposuction surgery.
Two days later, the British woman returned to the clinic in the suburb of Bahcelievler to have the wound dressing changed and routine checks.
But while the plastic surgeon was changing the dressing, Brown suddenly fell ill and her health quickly worsened, news site Sabah reported.
She passed away within hours after visiting the clinic.
The surgeon, only known as S.G.B., said the woman just fell ill and has no idea what caused her death.
An investigation has been launched and the surgeon was taken into custody. A criminal investigation is underway.
After the examination, the woman’s body was transported back to the UK for burial.
Family and friends posted on Brown’s Facebook age, with one writing: “My beautiful cousin. I will miss her, but I will cherish the memories of her.”
Another wrote: “What a beautiful young woman only God knows why she had to go so soon. Rest in peace my beautiful, funny, clever niece. The angels in heaven are celebrating your arrival.”
A third said: “his must be a dream. Still can’t come to terms with this yet.”
Another person wrote: “I’m so heartbroken.”
Brown is not the only one to die after visiting the country for a procedure.
In August 2020, a 38-year-old mother tragically died from multi-organ failure and peritonitis after complications from liposuction.
