So you might have read in the news time and time again, quite often in the past few decades the things people do to get insurance money, the wrong way.

Julija Adlesic severed herself by a circular saw, she cut her own hand in order to get the other hand on the insurance money. Yes, the money was a huge amount of €1m ($1.2m). No, it was not at all, worth it!
According to Sky News Reports, at a court in Ljubljana, this woman was found guilty of insurance fraud. Although the girl and her boyfriend claim that her hand was accidentally cut off while cutting the branches of a tree in their backyard.
This happened in the Slovenian capital. But they left the hand at home when they went to the hospital. Upon checking their internet history, the guy; Adlesic’s boyfriend’s history found that he had looked up prosthetic hands over the internet the day before this incident happened!
This was the biggest proof of the deliberate hand-cut.

Sentences and Jail Time
This insurance fraud has led Julija Adlesic to the prison for two years straight. The court also gave a sentence to the boyfriend who was an accomplice in this scam to three years in prison. Also, a one-year suspended sentence for his father is right at his head, too.
Lesson Learned?
Apparently, the biggest lesson you can take from this, not going to lie, is to be smart! You can’t fool everyone, maybe you can fool a hospital, police, or even the government of your own country but somehow, somewhat these frauds cannot be hidden from the court.
Also, like don’t ever do such frauds and scams, don’t take the risk. Or else you’ll end up empty in both cases, or shall we say ‘one-handed’.
