So you might have read in the news time and time again, quite often in the past few decades the things people do to get insurance money, the wrong way.
Well, we won’t judge over here but we sure as hell think there must be some major, HUGE reasons behind the crazy things people do to get that free money while alive.

Just like faking your own death, some people have done even more hideous things. This woman in Slovenia legit cut her own hand with a circular saw! Yes, you’ve read this right. So basically, she couldn’t get the money in her hand like this since the insurance company knew it was a scam.
Well, at least not both her hands since she cut off one of it.

When the song ‘Young, dumb and broke’ came out we didn’t know the singer meant such an incident.
Heck, even the singer wouldn’t have known that this is what it basically means to be young and broke and obviously, dumb enough to do this to yourself for the sake of money. ALL THAT while you can basically just earn money the RIGHT way. Some people really don’t get it, do they?

Julija Adlesic severed herself by a circular saw, she cut her own hand in order to get the other hand on the insurance money. Yes, the money was a huge amount of €1m ($1.2m). No, it was not at all, worth it!
According to Sky News Reports, at a court in Ljubljana, this woman was found guilty of insurance fraud. Although the girl and her boyfriend claim that her hand was accidentally cut off while cutting the branches of a tree in their backyard.
This happened in the Slovenian capital. But they left the hand at home when they went to the hospital. Upon checking their internet history, the guy; Adlesic’s boyfriend’s history found that he had looked up prosthetic hands over the internet the day before this incident happened!
This was the biggest proof of the deliberate hand-cut.
What Adlesic Has to Say
Basically this girl wants the whole world to know that no one wants to be crippled on their own at such a young age.
She’s only 22 and no one would deliberately do something like this to themselves just for the sake of few pennies that will run out soon. She claims herself to be innocent even after the court decision had been made.
Reading this statement, checking her story kind of seems like maybe she is right? But what’s the internet search then? Who randomly searches up something like that anyway??
Sentences and Jail Time
This insurance fraud has led Julija Adlesic to the prison for two years straight. The court also gave a sentence to the boyfriend who was an accomplice in this scam to three years in prison. Also, a one-year suspended sentence for his father is right at his head, too.
Lesson Learned?
Apparently, the biggest lesson you can take from this, not going to lie, is to be smart! You can’t fool everyone, maybe you can fool a hospital, police, or even the government of your own country but somehow, somewhat these frauds cannot be hidden from the court.
Also, like don’t ever do such frauds and scams, don’t take the risk. Or else you’ll end up empty in both cases, or shall we say ‘one-handed’.
