The pregnant wife of US Marine Rylee McCollum will receive a mortgage-free home from a charity.
20-year-old Jiennah McCollum will receive a mortgage-free home from the Tunnels of Towers foundation.
The late Marine Corps Lance Rylee McCollum was one of the13 US service members who were killed in the Afghanistan suicide bomb attack. He tragically died only three weeks before his baby was due.
According to reports, McCollum had been helping with the evacuation of individuals at a checkpoint in Kabul airport when the bomb exploded.
He was scheduled to return home in October.
The ISIS-K suicide bomber took the lives of at least 183 people at Kabul airport.
McCollum, who graduated from Jackson Hole High School in 2019, had tied the knot with Gigi in February.
Frank Siller, the Chairman of the charity Tunnels to Towers, told Breitbart News: “We’re building mortgage-free homes for Gold Star Families, and that includes any of the 13 that left behind a young family.
“And we do know one of them – his wife is pregnant and will be giving birth shortly.”
“We are going to build her a mortgage-free house. And rest assured, we are going to take care of any Gold Star Family that fits that criteria,” Siller added.
Siller and his family started the foundation after his brother Stephen Siller, died while saving fellow firefighters and victims on 9/11.
“His story is one of great pain and great sacrifice, but he came out the other side to help,” he said.
“Our family wanted to come out the other side of that tunnel as well and to make sure that we are there to help these other families that are feeling the same thing that we felt,” he continued.
The foundation gives smart homes to injured veterans and helps partners and children of service members who die in the line of duty.
