A father was ambushed and attacked by his ex-wife who slit his throat right in front of his young son.

The horrific attack took place in Brisbane, Australia, where Kerry Michael Rooney was allegedly ambushed by his 53-year-old ex-wife Bonita Vivien Coue.

According to the reports, Coue is believed to have waited in ambush at the staircase in the man’s apartment building after stalking him for two weeks.

When the father returned home with his 10-year-old son, Coue allegedly sprayed Rooney with bleach before stabbing him in the back when he tried to walk away from her.

While Rooney managed to get away, the woman followed him and continued to slash and stab him until he finally collapsed on the street outside his home. Coue then slit the man’s throat and left him to die in front of his son. She was later arrested at the crime scene and taken into custody.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly also threatened one of the man’s neighbors with bleach after they tried to scare her away using a bat.

Following her arrest, the 53-year-old was charged with one count of murder, two counts of assault, and one count of causing fear with a weapon.

While she admitted to murdering her ex-husband, Coue insisted that she went into the building armed for self-defense purposes despite being the one to initiate the attack.

“May I say the first charge is true,” she told the court. “And the fourth one (going armed as to cause fear) was self-defense.”
