In San Francisco, the crime ratio has reached an alarming rate, making Walgreen close its stores and end the business in several areas.
According to the sources, several items, including toothpaste, tampons, face wash, and hand sanitizer, were unavailable at the Walgreens stores when a police officer surveyed the store. He was told that the residents of San Francisco stole all these staples as previously all these shelves were full.
The closing of these Walgreen stores will create problems for many people, including seniors, children, and families. These stores are a go-to location for several people when they want to buy essential items to use in their daily lives, and the closure of these stores will annoy the regular customers to no end.
Organized retail crimes are increasing day by day, causing problems for the store owners and staff members.
Although the store authorities have increased the security measures and are trying their best to prevent these thefts, many items are still stolen daily, and nobody is aware of the actual people involved in these thefts.
Previously, 17 different stores were closed in San Francisco because of the same issue, and still, the police department is unable to solve the problem.
According to some people, the actual reason behind this increasing rate is the disastrous bail reform law. According to this law, people can get an easy bail after committing any crime related to theft.
Another surprising fact was unveiled during this.
A woman who has been arrested 46 times in the current year still got an easy bail just because of the reform. Almost 4,000 complaints were recorded in August regarding retail theft in San Francisco but no serous action has been taken by the police department yet.
