A student from the University of Nevada Las Vegas has tragically passed away after participating in a charity-themed fight night.
According to media reports, the 20-year-old student was due to turn 21 in just a few days but little did he know that he wouldn’t be able to after suffering severe brain injuries after he took part in a boxing match.
20-year-old Nathan Valencia collapsed to the ground after the main event that was held at the ‘Kappa Sigma Fight Night,’ right before he succumbed to his brain injuries on the 23 of November.
Meanwhile, the 20-year old’s long-time friend spoke to media outlets about how the fight night was poorly organized as there was reportedly no medical staff available.
The victim’s family is in a state of absolute shock and grief as they were not expecting anything like this to ever occur, adding how they are now in search of answers about how a fight night led to their innocent son passing away.

Other reports have spoken about how Valencia was a kinesiology student and an active member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon at his university but despite having no experience in the sport of boxing, he opted to register himself for the dangerous event.
A flyer was even released with Valencia and his opponent’s face showing their match to be a highlight for the main event. Moreover, the flyer encouraged members to come forward and attend ‘the smack down’ of the year, requesting them to support their favorite fighter.
For now, there are a lot of unanswered questions with Valencia’s family attorney releasing a statement that announced how the heartbroken family is now in the process to conduct a full investigation about the incident that took away their precious loved one.
