Now, the 13-year-old is being charged with a felony after he murdered his own sister with his homemade gun.
A recent statement from Douglas County Sheriff’s Department spoke about how two customers arrived at the family home in Douglasville, Atlanta with the intention of making a purchase of the weapon. But all of a sudden, they tried to grab a hold of the weapon and make a run before it.
Sounds of loud gunfire filled the air as the 13-year-old tried to shoot the reported thieves down but he clearly missed his target, firing directly into his sister by mistake.
Young Kyra was pronounced dead by medical officials as soon as she arrived at the hospital as the gunshot injuries were too critical for anyone to pull through such a tragedy.
The grieving family is still in absolute shock and grief regarding the incident, adding how nothing can bring her back again.
Authorities are still investigating how the young child was able to buy all the parts to assemble a ghost gun at home, including some semi-automatic weapons which can easily be bought online without a trace.
