A youth soccer player from Afghanistan has died after falling off the US evacuation plane at Kabul airport.
19-year-old Zaki Anwari was reportedly trying his level best to grab a firm grip onto the outer part of the military aircraft which belonged to the US, confirmed local media outlets. However, he was unsuccessful and fell off to the ground, which ultimately led to his death.
The giant USAF C-17 was a Boeing jet that entered Kabul’s airport on Monday to help evacuate the stranded Americans in the war-torn nation where the Taliban managed to gain a stronghold in no time. The young footballer’s death was recently confirmed by the Director-General for Sports in the nation.
At the moment, the American Air Force mentioned how it was reviewing the aftermath of the dreadful incident that took away several lives when a large herd of Afghans tried their best to board onto the mega aircraft, in an attempt to flee the country.
Before the jet could take off and leave Afghan airspace, a large group of civilians swarmed its surrounded, with so many gaining entries inside the aircraft, before it managed to take off from Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport.
Meanwhile, the Department of the country’s Air Force Office of Special Investigations mentioned in a recent statement how it was also busy reviewing the harrowing incident.
However, it did boldly mention recently how they would no longer be reviewing every single bit of information that related to the aircraft as well as the death of the civilians from Afghanistan involved.
Other than evidence in the form of viral online videos as well as reports from the press regarding people falling off the jet on the aircraft’s department, investigations also revealed gruesome findings in the form of human remains inside the C-17’s wheel well.
But that was only observed when the jet landed at Qatar’s Air Base.
