Meet the family that was recently kicked off a flight when their toddler refused to wear a face mask.
Eliz Oban shared a clip on her social media account which clearly showed her husband, daughter, and herself, getting kicked off a flight as they were traveling for the holidays. However, if you think that such an incident would stop this enthusiastic couple from getting a winter vacation, then you’re wrong.
Orban explains how the whole fiasco began when their little daughter Edeline refused to don a face mask.
Therefore, not complying with the airline’s rules meant one thing.
They couldn’t fly with united airlines. But in the end, it’s amazing how the couple actually decided to leave their daughter behind, and not miss out on their holiday event.United Airlines stays true to its kicked off flight policy
With the pandemic gaining more momentum as we speak, it makes absolute sense why United Airlines stayed true to their kicked off flight policy. And in this case, when the Oban family’s little two-year-old refused to wear her face mask, they were politely asked to leave.
The young mother explains how she broke down into tears after hearing the news. She even clipped a video of herself crying at the video, explain to her followers about the incident. Therefore, Eliz went on explaining how she was flying with the family to Newark in New Jersey from Colorado.
However, it all resulted in a bittersweet experience as their two-year-old just wouldn’t comply with the measures in place.
In addition, media sources explain how the mother accused the airlines of banning them forever from flying with the airline.
But the airline denied that comment. They added how the couple and their toddler are welcome to fly in the future, provided they follow safety measures.Little toddler refuses to wear a face mask
From the young mum’s Instagram click, it’s quite obvious how both parents struggle at controlling the little girl.
Despite Eliz and her husband’s forceful efforts, the naughty two-year-old just wouldn’t comply.Edeline looked visibly upset.
Soon, the video films the exact moment when an agent from the airport’s gates walks on over and boards the plane. He reaches the family’s seats and politely asks them to get off the plane.Further clips, released later, showed little Edeline covering her face. She even puts her hands over her mouth, just so her parents don’t cover her face with a mask.
As the agent says, “Hello sir, I’m going to ask you to take your belongings and exit the aircraft,” Orban’s husband remains stunned. He boldly responds in anger, “You’ve got to be kidding me.” Furthermore, he adds, why, we are holding her mask, over her face.”
Still, that doesn’t seem to be a good enough response or gesture and the family forcefully makes an exit.
A sudden change in holiday plans
The entire time, Eliz kept on recording how unjust the officials behaved with her and her husband.
They claimed that they couldn’t force the mask as the toddler kept on crying.
Other than that, the fact that their daughter’s car seat and other luggage would actually be flown to their final destination, and then sent back later, was beyond believable.“How will we go home,” explained Eliz’s husband. The Orbans had an entire family waiting for their arrival in New Jersey. This wasn’t the first time that the family flew with United Airlines during the pandemic. Devastated as ever, the family head home, and received their luggage the next day.
Suddenly, they came up with the idea of fulfilling their winter holiday goals by leaving their toddler behind with loved ones here.
And that’s when they bought tickets for a trip to Palm Beach, Florida via Delta Airlines.
They didn’t want to put their daughter through that mask-wearing turmoil again. Hence, they left her behind. The mother shared the news with her followers with some criticizing her for being selfish and putting her travel plans before her only child. But Eliz did mention how it broke her heart that her daughter couldn’t join them.
However, she was at peace knowing that she’s in the best of hands.
