Hours of power failure
Many people talked about how the mega-companies had full knowledge of the dire weather conditions. Clearly, the weather forecast predicted the situation beforehand. And many felt that it gave them plenty of time to plan ahead before disaster struck.
However, they failed to do so. But the real matter that continues to raise so many questions in so many people’s minds. How come the system wasn’t prepared for these conditions, for more than a decade? It’s almost as if they waited for deaths to take place. Perhaps, they waited for casualties to rise before they began taking bold measures. And that is something mind-blowing.
Utility companies have their say
After learning about young Cristan’s death, Entergy released a press statement which mentioned:
“We are deeply saddened by the great loss of life in our community. We are unable to make any further comments,” they added. Meanwhile, the other power company claimed through a statement how it didn’t get the chance to fully review the document.
However, it did confirm how 46% of its generation went offline on Monday. Also, they were very confident in making the right decision. And this involved preventing an entire state-wide blackout.
“This is definitely a major loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who continue to suffer due to the effects this week.”
