Kyle Rittenhouse, the famous teen gunman guilty of the Kenosha shootings, won’t face any charges in Illinois.
The state court’s verdict sent shockwaves around the country. It wasn’t something many people were expecting, especially after more evidence revealed how the gunman carried out the brutal crime in public. But why was the verdict in favor of the gunman?
Well, according to reports, Kyle Rittenhouse used weapons during his mass attack. Moreover, the large rifle under his possession didn’t have anything to do with his home state of Illinois. And that meant it was neither bought, sold, or used in the state. For this reason, the court dismissed all charges, claiming how it wouldn’t hold the teen guilty in the state.
So what does that mean? Is Kyle Rittenhouse free from all charges? Well, it’s too early to say anything. And that’s because his lawyers are fighting hard from his side. Today, the teen may be free to go back home temporarily but prosecutors are forgiving him by any means. Therefore, he will need to appear for multiple numbers of court hearings in Wisconsin.

And that’s just a few days after the high profile Jacob Blake shootings unfolded.
Hence, as a means of protesting that incident, demonstrators took to the street. However, Kyle gunned down two of those protestors. He felt that his life was in danger and hence he had no other option but to do so.Illinois goes on to claim how they have no trace of evidence about the weapon’s use in the state. Neither was it bought, sold, or used on Illinois’ grounds. And for that reason, prosecutors claim that the teen gunman is free from charges in his home state.
Another trail awaits in Wisconsin
But it’s not all celebrations just yet.
Prosecutors are still carrying forward with their charges against the man responsible for the brutal Kenosha shootings.Just because there are no charges in Illinois, it doesn’t mean he can’t get charged in Wisconsin.
Therefore, a trial awaits him with plenty of court hearings. However, after staying for weeks at a detention center in his hometown, Rittenhouse finally returned home. According to reports, his mother was elated to see her son in person. Meanwhile, she described him as pale and crying, excited to be reunited back in his home.
During the past few weeks, their only interaction was through video calls. Therefore, it was a sigh of relief when she saw him in person. At the same time, there are reports of the mother defending her child’s actions.
She expressed how her son had no other choice but to gun down the protestors. And that’s because if he didn’t they would kill him for sure. This is the same statement in line with the teen gunman’s lawyers. They claim that Rittenhouse only acted in ‘self-defense.’ He simply had no choice but to shoot.
