A 30-year-old ex-teacher has managed to dodge her way out of jail by blaming her heinous crime on her personal traumatic experiences.
Madeleine Ruth Schmaltz from Hermantown Middle School managed to shock quite a few people recently when she justified her shocking sexual assault on one of her young students, mentioned reports.
The incident that took place in Minnesota revolved around the teacher engaging in sexual acts with her student which comprised of sending vulgar messages, alongside touching sexually too.
Reports confirmed how the student’s mother was the first to discover her son’s illegal relationship with his mentor when she accidentally went through his chain of text messages that the teacher had reportedly sent. In addition, the very concerned mum claims she also overheard her son having a sexually oriented conversation. And that’s when she had to go through his phone records to confirm the awful truth.
Shockingly, the numbers were linked to the science teacher’s contact. Therefore, the mum opted to notify the police immediately regarding the incident. Schmaltz also had given the student some gifts as well, mentioned the mum.
In the harrowing complaint put forward against the mentor, the teacher did respond by giving her side of the story.
And that’s when she spoke about how she used to touch the child’s private parts sexually, while he did the same. Moreover, she did go on apologizing for her actions but also insisted how it wasn’t her fault because she was going through some personal traumatic experiences at the time and hence felt that her judgment became clouded as a result of that.“Ever since that incident, I have tried my level best to better myself as a person,” she went on to add. The teacher acknowledged how her actions have hurt the victim and as well as his family and for that, she kept on reiterating how she was ‘very and truly sorry.
Shockingly, many questions were raised when the teacher actually managed to dodge her jail sentence for all of her crimes. Now, she just faces a probation period that entails three years but will also need to register herself as a ‘predatory offender’, confirmed media reports.
