A 32-year-old pregnant woman in Philadelphia was brutally murdered near her house when she was unloading gifts after her baby shower from her car late at night.
An unidentified gunman shot the woman 11 times in her head and stomach resulting in her immediate death. It has been revealed that the deceased woman was a resident of Lawncrest. At around 8:30 pm, she was standing alone outside her house in the 6100 block of Palmetto Street.
After attending the baby shower, she was busy taking out gifts from her car when this horrible incident occurred. The gunman disappeared from the scene, and the woman was shifted to Einstein Medical Center, where the doctors declared her dead with a dead unborn baby.
The police reached the scene and started an investigation soon after the incident. Eleven shell casings were found, but there wasn’t any clue about the shooter. No suspects have been identified, and the investigation is still under process. The neighbors of the dead woman have shared their views about the incident.
A resident of Lawncrest has proclaimed that the people here are unable to stop the shooters every day, many women, men, children, and unborn children are dying, and the city has to do something to stop this.
The town is about to exceed 500 homicides in a short duration. There have been 491 homicide victims in the current year, and not many shooters have been arrested by police yet. It is reported that a man was also shot dead near the 5100 block of F Street recently.
The mayor of the city, Jim Kenny, has announced a reward of $50,000 for anyone who provides information about the killer.
According to her, the incident is upsetting and heartbreaking. Her administration is taking this gun violence crisis seriously and is working with all criminal justice and community partners to make the city safe for all the residents.
