A 41-year-old resident of Virginia, Lori Ann Villanueva Talens, is a master scammer who made almost $32 Million by selling fake coupons.
Lori Ann used the earned money in renovating her home and on fancy trips.
Her fraud scheme was going smoothly until the FBI got involved.When a warrant was executed for her arrest, the police found fake coupons of nearly $1 Million in her house.
According to a source, there were coupons in every corner of her house, even in her jacket’s pockets and vehicles. She has shipped tens of thousands of coupons she designed and printed at home herself.Her husband was also arrested as the couple did it together.
According to the FBI, Lori Ann was a pro in what she was doing.
They found designs to make coupons for more than 13,000 different products on her computer.
After assessing the designs and patterns of ‘Frankenstein’ coupons, the FBI determined that Lori Ann was responsible for $31,817,997 in losses.She was able to create the perfect fake coupons so that they were virtually indistinguishable from the actual coupons.
The woman has a background in marketing and strong computer design skills and was more than perfect in it.
The smart woman could create a coupon for every grocery or drugstore product.
She evaluated her lifestyle and changed her house with all the earned money by adding an in-ground swimming pool, a sunroom, and a luxurious kitchen and also spent some amount on vacation, shopping trips, and dinners.Now after getting arrested, the woman told a source that she is deeply ashamed and embarrassed about her actions. According to her, she will regret this for the rest of her life as now the 41-year-old has set a terrible moral example for her children. She is sentenced to spend 12 years in jail now, and her husband has to spend 87 months in prison.
