One Seattle police officer is going viral after pictures and videos relating to him were released.
The young cop is clearly telling protesters and Black Lives Matter supporters that they’ve won. Moreover, he’s explaining to others that the unrest and violence relating to the whole ordeal is just too much pressure.
Ever since George Floyd’s death, there are countless protests, strikes, riots, and other mass gatherings going on. While some choose to remain peaceful, others just can’t seem to hold their feelings together. And in the end, it’s mass violence of the worst kind.
While the exact conditions or circumstances around the actual video aren’t too clear, the officer looks tired of the unrest. He says to one Black Lives Matter activist that, ‘You guys won.’
Moreover, the cop clearly announces how he is quitting the Seattle police department for good. And in around two months, he’s going to get released from his duties. He even goes to the extent of saying how ‘he’s done,’ with everything.
Other than that, you can see the officer showcasing a very grim appearance. He doesn’t look too happy too. And when the interviewer asks him about whether he’s stepping down due to police brutality, he says No! In fact, he clears the air by stating that he’s just too tired. The entire Black Lives Matter movement and dealing with BLM protesters is too much for him to bear.
Seattle Police Officer says he’s done dealing with BLM protesters
A rather shocking video of one of Seattle police department’s junior officers clearly shows how fed up officials are for everything that’s going on.
Moreover, the city is currently facing a lot of unrest. And clearly, it’s getting to everyone. On a daily basis, numerous clashes take place amidst cops and BLM protesters. And it clearly seems like a never-ending affair.
All of the commotions started after May 25th. This was when George Floyd lost his life in one of the most harrowing and brutal criminal acts ever. Yes, Derek Chauvin, the police officer that kneeled on Floyd’s neck for nine minutes, caused the black man to die.
Video footage of cop comes just days after police chief resigns
The Seattle police officer’s video came just days after an announcement of resignation by the city’s police chief. Yes, he was Seattle’s first-ever black chief to enter the police department. And his name is Carmen Best.
During the video, the officer clearly announces his resignation from his respective department. In a very relaxed tone, he says, ‘i’m leaving, you guys won.’
Unbelievingly, the protests went viral. Although you can’t really make out who the unidentified man is, neither does he reveal his identity. Moreover, it seems as if he’s fine with his resignation.
Cop shares a laugh with BLM protester
Slowly, he pulls his patrol car up towards a protester. And that’s when he rolls down the window and adds an extra dose of humor while saying, ‘How’s your day going, buddy?’
The activist responds rudely by saying, ‘not too great as you’re around.’ But that’s when the officer says that he’s got some good news. And it’s relating to the fact that he won’t be around. He’s resigning and after two months, BLM protesters won’t see him.
Meanwhile, the video continues with both men exchanging false commentaries and laughing about the entire ordeal.
In the middle, there’s even a slight pause as one cop puts another protester in line for his wrongdoing. And that’s when the protester screams to others that ‘this cop is resigning because of black lives matter.’ Furthermore, he tries to trigger the cop who soon gets furious.
And in the end, the protester says. ‘we’ll never be friends, that’s for sure.’
