Democratic representative and leading activist Alexandria Ocasio Cortez was recently slammed for staging shocking behavior during a recently held rally at the US Capitol.
The representative was captured on camera without a mask throughout the really but only decided to put on the mask for a minute as she was asked to be photographed in a group.
The shocking footage revealed the lawmaker’s appalling behavior with many calling it double standards of the highest degree.
In the video, AOC puts on a face mask for the group’s photo op. And then just moments later, she swiftly takes it off. And just in case that wasn’t enough, she is also seen talking to a large group without any mask insight.
The representative was recently taking part in a protest comprising of a leading number of activists who wished to call for an extension for the eviction moratorium, without donning any mask.
Soon, the organizer for the event is seen and heard telling the group to come together as one over the steps of the Capitol Building, right before AOC quickly makes her attempt of forcing on a light blue-toned face mask.
The Rep was also joined by fellow Democrat Senator Ed Markey who also make a fast attempt to put his face mask on for the sake of the group photo. Many critics called out the leaders who failed to set examples for the general public, adding how it was beyond belief that they would behave so irresponsibly as unmasked individuals at a rally.
As it is, the concept of wearing face masks has sparked great outrage as well as controversy across the board. This includes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who is looking to impose fines over those who choose to avoid the rule and go about unmasked in public places. These fines will reportedly comprise a value ranging between $500 to $2500.
