If a random girl pretends as she knows you in public out of nowhere, go along with it.
Chances are, she is in danger and she is acting this way to save herself from a potential threat.
A lot of times, when some random boys, or those who know you, try to follow you, girls feel unsafe.
Since this act is totally uncalled for and has a negative connotation, women feel their safety is at risk.
Earlier last month, Twitter was discussing how one, man or woman, should act like whenever some female poses like you guys are acquaintances.Twitter talking about a random girl approaching you
If a girl suddenly acts as if she knows you in public and acts like you’re friends, go along w it she could be in danger

It all started when a user posted a tweet on Twitter saying, ‘if a girl suddenly acts as if she knows you in public. And acts like you are friends, go along with it. She could be in danger. This is when everyone poured in and started talking about their own similar experiences.
A girl did this FOR me one time when I was sitting alone at a bar because she could tell I was in a very uncomfortable situation and I’ll never forget her. It was bold of her to do that for a stranger but she literally saved me from some creep ass guy.

One user shared her experience saying how she was alone in a bar once. Someone was bothering her so a random girl noticed it and helped her. She came up to her and acted like they are friends as she read I was in a difficult situation. According to this random girl user, she would never forget this random girl.

And scared! We played it out for a minute longer until they told us what happened! Some men in a van were following them promising to take them to the beach and wouldn’t leave them alone! They pointed out one of the guys and I had seen him turn away when they addressed my dad!

As per another story of another user, one woman wrote what happened to her and her husband. According to her, she was sitting with her husband at a restaurant when a random girl approached them. She pretended like they are acquaintances and found each other at the restaurant. She said we were amazed at first but then realized there were a bunch of guys who were following her.
Which was odd because we were in the corner out of the way. She hung out w/ us until her other friends got there. Once we realized what had actually happened we were a little shocked.

She herself pointed out to the guys to explain the situation. Soon enough, her friends came and she went with her. This girl said she and her husband were shocked to know it.
A user AmberLUVV narrated a story she and her father experienced at a beech. There were two girls who started talking to her father posing like they are family. In a minute, they explained their reason for doing it, which obviously was some men making them uncomfortable. This random girl then stayed with them throughout and they all had fun.

Honestly speaking, if girls won’t help girls and come out for them who else will? Women should fix each others’ crowns instead of breaking them further. A lot of users swamped Twitter on this debate and girls started appreciating random girl who helped them in such a time of crisis.
Fun fact is, an overwhelming majority of women ended up being friends with the girls who helped them. Truly, one can never forget the person who helped them cope with their vulnerable moment.
They ended up giving me a ride around town bcuz the creeper was following. Made some friends and we made him run a red light, which had a cop chasing him. They got me home and we hung out regularly after that.

How did other users react to these horrific experiences of girls?
That is horrible, but I’m so glad you got a happy ending!

A lot of social media users said it shocked and disgusted them how the girls have to go through. Most of them said they are happy that it ended positively for them. But in all honestly, these uncomfortable incidents are quite threatening.
If a creepy guy is following a girl, you should always be ready to help her. She possibly is in potential danger and needs saving. Sometimes it is you who needs help from a random girl and sometimes you should be the random girl helping others. This is how it works.
A lot of people talk about what if these creepy dudes are just trying to be friends. Or they want some company. We would like to say that you have no idea what a woman goes through on the streets. These ‘what if’ propositions are meaningless because street harassment is a real phenomenon.
