Two young children were forced to fend for themselves for a day after their mother had unexpectedly passed away in her bed.
21-year-old Nikita Jarvis was a dedicated mother of 4-year-old Valeria and 3-year-old Michael who was just weeks pregnant when she passed away unexpectedly, Daily Mail Australia reported.
According to the mom’s family, the young lady was taken to a hospital after experiencing severe sickness. Once in the ER, Nikita stopped breathing and collapsed, forcing the staff to put her in an induced coma.
Days later, the mother woke up only for the doctors who were baffled by her sudden blackout to prescribe diazepam and discharge her after seeing she had come back to her senses.
After leaving the hospital, Nikita celebrated her dad’s birthday with her entire family. At around 3 in the afternoon, however, the family left when the mom told them she started feeling tired.
Later that day, the woman’s sister, Shakira, messaged Nikita but failed to secure response of any kind. Thinking that her sister was probably just resting, Shakira went on with her day as planned.
On the following day, however, Shakira was in for a big surprise when the children’s father reached out to her and asked whether she’s heard from her sister after he wasn’t able to get in contact with her.
“I got into the car with my 10-month-old son and went to check on her. When I arrived, I knocked for a while and my four-year-old niece asked ‘who is it?’ I told her it was Aunty Shak and asked if she could open the door, and she replied: ‘I can’t, Mummy’s sleeping and I can’t wake her,’” Shakira recalled.
After storming the home, the sister’s blood froze when she noticed the kids were still wearing the same clothes as the day before. She then entered Nikita’s bedroom only to find the lifeless mom lying in her bed “with fluids leaking from her nose and face.”
After calling for help, the first responders confirmed that the mom had been dead for some time but couldn’t tell the family what the cause of her death was, meaning that her loved ones will have to wait for autopsy results to get to the bottom of the matter.
“Maybe she had an allergic reaction that has stopped her breathing, but it’s such a shock because she was freshly 21,” Nikita’s sister said.
Since the tragic passing, the family has also started a GoFundMe page to raise funds to pay for the loving mom’s funeral.
“Nikita was the most beautiful person and so kind, had a wonderful sense of humor and knew how to make everyone around her smile. She had so much life to live and experience, she had just gotten a beautiful new home for herself and family, she had just found out she was expecting a 3rd baby, her daughter was about to start prep and she was looking so forward to that,” Shakira wrote.
“She was so excited about her future. This situation has left our whole family traumatized and in shock, her death was so sudden and it has shaken us all.
“Unfortunately we are a low income family and we are desperately looking for assistance to help pay for the funeral she deserves. We have some money to put towards it but we really need some help. If anyone could please help us reach our goal no matter how big or small we would be so grateful.”
