The mother of two brothers who were recently charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a Chicago police officer has now been arrested.
The two brothers received charges for killing Ella French, a Chicago cop. They reportedly did this by gunning her down in a brutal battle involving weapons. However, police managed to capture both suspects in their injured state.
But what really shocked officers is how the suspected gunmen’s mother tried to sneakingly gain access into one of her son’s rooms at a local hospital where he was undergoing treatment.
She reportedly kicked another hospital officer in the groin to try and enter a room, as reported by police authorities. But it was all in vain as they immediately grabbed her and arrested her too.
Meanwhile, police revealed new details on how the situation took place. First, they received a phone call at about 8:30 am from the Medical Center in Oak Lawn. This is about 15 miles away from the southwestern side of Chicago’s downtown.
The mother who was later identified as Evalena Flores allegedly tried to gain entry into the room of her 21-year-old son Emonte Morgan. He was recently charged for carrying out the first-degree murder of Ella French during the fatal shootout that took place in Chicago on Saturday.
Her son Morgan had reportedly sustained severe medical injuries and hence needed medical treatment at a hospital. Clearly, this was a fatal confrontation that left another cop seriously wounded.
The mum put up a whole showdown to sneak into her son’s room, kicking a public safety officer from the hospital in the groin as he tried to resist her entry. Moreover, shocking footage of the incident was captured and posted online recently too.
Here is where the mum can be clearly heard yelling, “I’m only trying to see my son. My son, Emonte Morgan, I want to see my son,” she continues to yell till the end. And then a loud toned statement, “Don’t touch me, don’t touch me,” can be heard from the mother’s end.
Meanwhile, the chief of the Oak Lawn Police Division Gerald Vetter mentioned to the Chicago Tribune that the video would be of great interest as they carry with their investigation into the case.
