Piers Morgan has sparked great outrage as he made a series of comments regarding champion gymnast Simone Biles, right after she opted to pull out from the Tokyo Games event final.
Morgan was recently blasted when he called out the star gymnast from team USA for opting to withdraw from the event, citing issues relating to her mental health. Without a doubt, Biles’ exit was definitely something that not too many people saw coming but neither were the comments put forward by Morgan.
After failing to secure a successful vault, Simone Biles was seen exiting the arena with her coach and a paramedic, with many citing fears relating to a possible injury. However, she did return back to the stadium, where it was soon announced how she would no longer continue, opting to pull out.
While her coach confirmed how she did not suffer any form of injuries, the star gymnast did reveal to reporters from the Press how she bowed out because of her mental health concerns.
“I just didn’t feel the need to go on. I need to focus on my mental health because I firmly believe that is most important right now, even more than this sporting event,” Biles continued.
However, that just didn’t sit down well with Morgan Piers who found it to be the ultimate opportunity to mock the gymnast.
Morgan revealed his enraged thoughts on the matter, where he condemned her justification as a silly and sad excuse. “Are mental health problems now the new excuse for an athlete’s poor performance in the world of elite sports,” Piers Morgan questioned.
Referring to the athlete’s comments as a joke, Morgan was quick to call her out with some controversial words.
“Please just admit you did poorly, made a few mistakes, and will continue to do better next time,” he added.
In the end, Morgan opted to conclude his rant by stating how children need strong role models in this world and not nonsense like this.Recommended Video For You!
