A 49-year-old woman who was wrongly declared dead after collapsing at home woke up in a coffin at her own funeral.
Fagilyu Mukhametzyanov from Russia suffered from chest pains when she collapsed at their home. Her husband decided to have an open coffin funeral for his late wife.
But when the grieving husband went to the coffin to say his final goodbye to the love of his life, he was shocked when she suddenly returned to life.
Mrs. Fagilyu opened her eyes and heard mourners praying for her soul. She then started screaming and immediately realized that she was in a coffin.
Her husband said they rushed her to the hospital but she died 12 minutes later from a heart attack.
“I am very angry and want answers,” he expressed. “She wasn’t dead when they said she was and they could have saved her.”
A spokesperson for Minsalih Sahapov hospital said an investigation would be carried out into the tragic incident.
This is not the first time someone has been wrongly declared dead by doctors.
Earlier this month, another woman shocked mourners at her funeral by showing signs of life and banging on her coffin, The Mirror reported.
Rosa Isabel Cespedas Callaca’s grieving family members were in for a shock when they heard noises coming from her coffin during the service in Lamayque, Peru.
According to the Daily Star, Callaca was pronounced dead after a car crash which also took the life of another family member.
Callaca’s nephews were left with severe injuries after the catastrophic incident which happened on the Chiclayo-Pisci road of the region.
After the crash, she was placed in a coffin but mourners gasped when they heard banging noises during the service.
Cemetery caretaker Juan Segundo Cajo said: “(She) opened her eyes and was sweating. I immediately went to my office and called the police.”
