A woman has shared her agonizing experience after she accidentally put superglue in her eyes after mistaking it for her eyedrops.
Jennifer Eversole from Santa Rosa put the bottle of superglue on her dresser after putting it on her daughter’s nails.
But when the mother-of-six was about to use her eyedrops, she accidentally grabbed the superglue and sealed her left eye shut.
Eversole was taken to a hospital where doctors managed to open her eye and remove the superglue.
“Well, I’ve gone and done it. I have won the most idiot person award,” the mom said. “I wasn’t paying attention, and now my eye is glued shut.
“I just feel so stupid.”
In her TikTok video, which has received more than 4 million views, Eversole said that she realized something was wrong the moment she poured the superglue into her eye.
“Intense burning,” she explained. “Really bad burning, it felt hot.”
She immediately closed her eyes after feeling the burning sensation and called an ambulance.
The mother was rushed to a hospital where doctors applied an antibiotic ointment onto her eyelids and eyelashes to disintegrate the glue and reduce the risk of infection.
Then they opened the eyelid and checked any damage to her eyeball.
Eversole was later discharged but was told to keep the bandage on her eye and apply ointment every day to gradually remove the remaining bits of glue under her eyelid.
This came after a 22-year-old woman also had a similar experience.
When Lyd woke up in the middle of the night, she tried to reach for eye drops but accidentally grabbed glue.
