A couple with a 42-year age gap has spoken out to defend their relationship from internet trolls.
David Epstein, 70, is an Oakland, California, man who married 28-year-old Jackie after first meeting her when he was visiting the Philippines.
The couple has since moved to the States where they often make and share content featuring glimpses from their private life such as videos of them dancing and enjoying trips to nature.
While David admitted he is feeling “blessed” to have a beautiful wife, this didn’t stop critics from bashing the young woman saying she was only in for the Green Card or the man’s money.
“So many label him as my sugar daddy, say I’m a green card digger, a gold digger,” Jackie admitted in her interview for the Love Don’t Judge channel.
“But I’m not really affected because it’s not true. I know myself, I know that I am not a gold digger.”
Speaking of her controversial union, the young lady added: “My family are very supportive and my friends also. I won’t regret marrying Dave because he’s a really nice man. He loves me, he respects me, he’s the best.”
Meanwhile, Dave revealed that he met Jackie via a dating site while he was visiting her home country, the Philippines.
He also said he “practically jumped out of” his chair when he first laid his eyes on her because he was stunned by her beauty.
“Our wedding was fun. It was the best day of my life. My parents and siblings couldn’t make it here,” Jackie added as she revealed the couple tied the knot in the States after she had received her visa.
The couple’s story has since gone viral on social media and they boast 50k followers on TikTok alone.
