A woman has left internet users baffled after she claimed that she spotted her late husband in a promotional video for a local restaurant even though he died nine years ago.
Spice Cottage, an Indian restaurant in Westbourne, West Sussex, shared a video showing diners enjoying their meals.
However, one comment in the clip left many viewers puzzled as she asked when the video was filmed as she claimed to have spotted her husband among the diners even though he died almost a decade ago.
The clip was shared on Spice Cottage Facebook page with the caption: “New year, new mood! For the last few weeks, we’ve been working hard to make our dining experience even more memorable.
“Join us for a perfect blend of exquisite flavours, with classical and unique dishes inspired by ancient family recipes.”
But in the comments, a woman named Lucy Watson questioned: “How old is the footage? My late husband and his son are on the first shot and he died in 2014??”
The owners of the restaurant replied and said that the clip had been filmed only a week before they posted it on their Facebook page.
“Hi Lucy Watson, sorry to hear this. This footage was recorded last week,” they wrote.
Many social media users were shocked, with many still waiting for an update.
One Facebook user wrote: “I need to know what’s going on, ASAP.”
Another said: “Can we have an update? I’m invested now.”
A third wrote: “Everybody has a lookalike somewhere in the world, and sometimes it gets even more creepy than that!”
But others suggested that it was ‘fake’ and it was just a marketing strategy for the restaurant to get ‘free promotion.’
