A young woman has spoken out about her relationship with a man forty years her senior and hit back at their critics.
23-year-old Maria Eduardo Dias from Campina Grane, Brazil, is head over heels in love with 63-year-old Nixon Motta who works as a radio DJ.
As the young lady revealed, she met Motta when she was just 16 years old and he was 57. Despite the massive age gap, the couple immediately hit it off and started a relationship that would see them tie the knot and start a family of their own.
Maria has since decided to speak out and defend her relationship after critics slammed her and accused her husband of being a predator when she shared her story on social media.
“I even imagined it would go viral, but in a positive way. With people thinking: ‘look what a beautiful love story…,’ but that’s not what happened,” the 23-year-old said in an interview with Paraiba as she opened up about her marriage and family.
In her video, she added: “It’s easy to judge when you don’t know the story. We are very happy and accomplished, and built a beautiful and blessed family. Nobody has the right to disrespect us.
“Long live love! Love each other! Stop instilling hatred and evil for free people.”
Speaking out was also her husband who said: “Long live our love! Love you my princess. None of this will bother us. We faced much worse things together, and you were always with me helping me overcome and giving me strength to win!”
As the 63-year-old told Paraiba, he’s not rich and his wife didn’t fall for his money like many people assumed. He also revealed that they met spontaneously after she reached out to him and befriended him.
Meanwhile, Dias claims her husband has been nothing but her rock who helped her overcome depression. She also dubbed him a “super dad” and insisted she would never trade him for a younger man.
