A young woman died from complications arising from her weight loss procedure in a foreign country.
28-year-old Shannon Bowe from the UK was a kind person and lively person who flew to Turkey to undergo a gastric band procedure which helps people lose weight by lowering the capacity of their stomachs and reducing their food consumption.
Unfortunately, the young lady died from undisclosed causes while having the surgery at a clinic in the Middle Eastern country.
As of this writing, the cause of death and the name of the clinic remain shrouded in mystery, whereas it is not clear if the providers of the treatment will be held liable for the woman’s death.
Shannon has since her passing been branded as an “angel” by her loved ones who revealed that she was the “life and soul of every party.”
“Sleep tight my angel, love you forever and always,” the 28-year-old’s boyfriend wrote in a tribute.
Meanwhile, an anonymous insider revealed that everyone was left “devastated” by the horrible news of Shannon’s passing.
“Shannon was one of the kindest people I knew and she would do anything for anyone. She was the life and soul of a party. It is so sad,” the source said.
“These operations obviously are risky, but it is so rare you hear of this happening. Everyone is finding it really hard to believe she is no longer with us. She did not have any travel insurance and her family are now going to have to pay thousands of pounds to bring her back home.
“This is the last thing they need to worry about.”
Since the news of the passing broke free, several friends of Shannon spoke out and pair their tribute to the “beautiful young soul” with the “brightest spirit.”
“I just don’t know how to accept what’s happened and words can’t describe how I’m feeling. It’s so cruel. My heart is sore for you and everyone that loved you. We have had some of the best memories and you really did make everyone laugh with your ways,” someone said.
“No words, absolutely devastated. Life is so cruel. You will be forever in our hearts Shannon Bowe,” another wrote.
A third echoed: “You always had the brightest spirit be it in the pub or when I saw you at work your smile was infectious & lit up even the darkest of days. Rest easy now Angel you have gained your wings.”
