A beloved social media influencer has passed away after a lengthy battle with her illness.
44-year-old Fiona Jane Lagan from Teesside, England, was a TikTok sensation who bravely documented her battle with throat cancer on her social media channel known as FeeFeeJane.
The young lady was diagnosed with an aggressive form of throat cancer three years ago. She had since been forced to use a tracheostomy tube and undergo grueling radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Sadly, Fiona’s fight came to an end this Monday when she succumbed to her illness in the presence of her loved ones.
“She was like Wonder Woman. She fought and fought. Fee Fee was so full of life and was an absolutely gorgeous girl inside and out,” Fiona’s mother, Jan, said in an interview with TeessideLive.
The tragic news comes a year after Fiona launched a JustGiving fundraiser and explained how life came “crashing down” following her stage 4 throat cancer diagnosis.
The 44-year-old then began grueling chemo and radiotherapy only for her hopes of recovery to be crushed during a meeting with her consultant who told her that she had no longer than 12 months to live.
“In that meeting my world fell apart. Looking at my brothers and my mother’s face in pure shock broke me. Never ever did I think it would come to this,” she bravely admitted in a video shared with her 44,000 followers.
Knowing she had little time, Fiona created a bucket list and did her best to live the remainder of her life to the fullest.
She also made a heartbreaking last wish to donate all of her hair to the Little Princess Trust to do what she could to help others before leaving the world.
Jen has since Fiona’s death paid her daughter a touching tribute and explained that the young woman had a heart of gold.
She also revealed that Fiona had left behind a Mother’s Day gift knowing that she wouldn’t be there to greet her mother on the special day. The doting daughter also left a birthday card for her father who will celebrate his birthday in July.
Our thoughts are with Fiona’s family and friends during this challenging time.
