Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose legal name is Daniel Hernandez, was rushed to a hospital after being ambushed inside the bathroom of a gym in Florida.
His attorney, Lance Lazzaro, said that the rapper was taken to a hospital after being attacked inside LA Fitness on March 21.
A video of the attack showed two men towering over the 26-year-old on the floor as he tried to shield himself from the attack.
The lawyer also said that his client had no personal security with him.
According to TMZ, staff at the Florida gym heard the brawl and quickly informed the manager. Medics and police also arrived at the scene and Tekashi was rushed to a hospital.
He reportedly sustained injuries to his back, jaw, and ribs, the outlet reported.
This comes after he was kicked out of a baseball stadium in Miami after causing a commotion and leaving many fans upset.
In 2019, he was sentenced to two years in prison for his role in the Nine Trey Gansta Bloods gang. He also faced decades behind bars on racketeering and other charges but his time was reduced after taking a plea deal.
His assistant attorney told reporters at that time that the rapper “will forever have to look over his shoulder.”
It is not clear if the recent attack had something to do with his affiliation with police but his representatives told TMZ that he plans to call the police to make sure that he gets proper security.
