The ‘Sopranos’ star Drea de Matteo has shared how she had to join OnlyFans to ‘save her family’ because she was ‘never really paid very much’ for the roles she had.
The actress has appeared in many movies and TV shows, including Desperate Housewives, Sons of Anarchy, The Mindy Project, Joey, and more.
However, she still found it difficult to make ends meet, especially after she was dropped by her agent during the pandemic.
The 51-year-old then said that she joined OnlyFans and shared content with her subscribers to save her family.
In an interview with Fox News, Drea said: “People find that hard to believe that I was never really paid very much money for any of the jobs I’ve done. People think I’m f**king made of gold, and I’m not. I’ve worked job to job.”
The star decided to setup an account on the platform so she could support her family as productions closed down for months because of the pandemic.
“Things have changed in the last three years. My kids have always been my number one focus. I’ve turned down tons of jobs in the past just to be with my children because their dad [musician Shooter Jennings] is on the road, and he’s not around as much,” Drea went on.
The actress also insisted that she was not bothered by the criticism when her children are living comfortably because of what she’s doing.
“I just don’t care. I don’t. I’d rather save my family than save face. I know some people have said some nasty things about me having joined OnlyFans.
“But, you know, the way we see it in this house is mommy’s a warrior, not accepting defeat.”
