Singer and songwriter Michelle Branch has been arrested after she allegedly slapped her husband, Patrick Carney.
Metropolitan Nashville Police Department told Daily Mail that the 39-year-old was taken into custody around 3 am in Nashville, Tennessee after police received a report of a potential domestic disturbance.
The singer admitted to slapping her husband two times before cops arrived.
Branch, who was breastfeeding her 6-month-old daughter, was later released on $1,000 bail.
There were no injuries seen on the Black Keys drummer, TMZ reported.
Branch was only 18 when her music career became successful. She gained popularity after releasing her album The Spirit Room in 2001, which included her first hits Goodbye to You, Everywhere, and All You Wanted.
It was in 2017 when Carney and Branch started dating while they were putting her album Hopeless Romantic together.
They got married in April 2019 and welcomed their second child in 2022.
Michelle was previously married to bassist Teddy Landau and they share a daughter, Owen Isabelle Landau. 17.
The singer is set to appear in court on November 7 for her charges.
This comes after the couple Branch and Carney announced their split after three years of marriage.
In a statement announcing their split, Branch said that she had the rug ‘completely pulled out from underneath.”
“To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family. The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward,” the singer said in a statement obtained by People.
“With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”
