A mother has shared how she was left in tears when her neighbor smeared dog poo on her front door as a parting gift after a year-long row.
Courtney Cobb and her partner Jay Chapman moved to their apartment in Wallsend, North Tyneside last year.
The couple said that they were friendly with all their neighbors and everyone seemed nice except for one that they’ve called their ‘nightmare neighbor.’
The unnamed man would often play loud music and smoke outside their apartment, which made their days even harder as they had a newborn baby.
Their quarrels continued for months until the man finally decided to move out.
But before leaving, he left a parting gift to the 20-year-old mother.
“We thought we heard someone at our door touching the handle but we thought it’s not the postman or anything so we left it,” Courtney said.
“A delivery driver came to drop off our food and he was like ‘what’s that on your door?’ and we looked and just knew straight away who it was.”
Courtney believes that their neighbor smeared dog poo on their front door and door handle before leaving the apartment block.
Police attended the incident but no arrests were made.
“My partner was furious and I was just scared, I was crying,” the mother-of-one continued, adding that she was holding her baby while thinking it was her job to keep her safe but the incident left her doubting herself.
“It’s just shocking, obviously I didn’t like him as a person but I didn’t think he would ever stoop that low. I don’t even know how that thought would come into someone’s head,” she expressed.
The mother said that she sent the man a message but he firmly denied it.
Speaking about the foul act, the unnamed man said: “I’ve had nothing but hassle from her, that’s why I’ve moved out. I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong, they’ve just caused aggravation unnecessarily.
“She’s made loads of lies up about me. I’m a hard-working lad.”
He also said that he was running a business so he was out of the apartment 12 hours a day.
“I’ve never played music and I certainly don’t smoke,” he added. “I had police at my door because they’ve called the police – they’ve come numerous times and walked away. There’s been no action taken because I’ve not done anything.”
The former neighbor also said that he just bought his own property and finally moved out.
“I did not rub poo on their door,” he added.
