A 32-year-old mother who allegedly took the lives of her three children before jumping off the roof of their Massachusetts home has been left permanently paralyzed from the waist down.
Lindsay Clancy had been battling post-partum depression before strangling her 5-year-old daughter Cora, 3-year-old son Dawson, and Callan, 7 months.
She reportedly cut her wrists before jumping from the roof of their home on January 24.
Lindsay begged doctors for help before the tragic deaths of her children. She has spent the last few months receiving intense medical care before she was transferred to a different hospital while waiting for the grand jury decision on whether she will be charged with murder.
A fundraising page that has been organized for the grieving father, Patrick Clansy, has received more than $1 million but Lindsay’s attorney has revealed that ‘not one cent’ was being used to pay for the woman’s defense.
Lindsay’s parents have been paying for their daughter’s legal bills.
After the heartbreaking ordeal, Clancy said that he forgave his wife.
“I want to ask all of you that you find it deep within yourselves to forgive Lindsay, as I have,” he expressed.
“The real Lindsay was generously loving and caring towards everyone – me, our kids, family, friends, and her patients. The very fibers of her soul are loving. All I wish for her now is that she can somehow find peace.
“She loved being a nurse, but nothing matched her intense love for our kids and dedication to being a mother. It was all she ever wanted. Her passion taught me how to be a better father.”
Lindsay is currently receiving treatment at Tewksbury Hospital. She is in the care of Department of Mental Health after it was determined that she needs long-term medical care and psychiatric help.
Her attorney is fighting for more compassionate charges, explaining that her client will require round-the-clock medical assistance for the rest of her life.
