A 32-year-old father was found dead after he and his wife lost their IVF twins after ten years of grueling IVF.
In February, Adam Edwards and his wife Lucy, 30, were thrilled as they were told that they were finally going to be parents. In April, they announced that they were expecting twins.
But in July, their excitement turned to tragedy when the twins they named James Robert and Penny Christine were stillborn at 21 weeks.
Lucy told Daily Mail Australia that her husband struggled with his mental health after they lost their twins. His body was found at the remote BHP mine where he worked.
“To love Adam Edwards has been the privilege and joy of my life,” Lucy shared the heartbreaking news of her husband’s death.
“I don’t know how to do this life without you. We all love you fiercely, but to have been loved by you is the greatest gift any of us could have asked for.
“I would do anything for one last kiss, one last hug or one last day. Please take care of our babies.”
Lucy told the news outlet that it served as a warning for other men and urged others who have similar experience or despair to seek help before it is too late.
“I hope no other family goes through this,” she said. “My life changed irrevocably when I received the news that my best friend, husband and soul mate Adam Edwards had passed away.”
Adam’s passing came over two months after they buried their twins.
“Our beautiful children were conceived after a seven-year IVF journey which Adam and I travelled side by side, hand in hand every step of the way.”
Lucy urged anyone in a similar situation to seek help. “You are loved and there is help, all you need to do is ask.”
