A 61-year-old grandmother and her 24-year-old husband have announced their plans to finally have their first child together.
Cheryl McGregor and Quran McCain first met in 2012 when he was only 15 years old. Their romantic relationship did not blossom until they reconnected in 2020 when Quran, who was working as a caretaker, saw Cheryl working at a convenience store.
They knew from that moment that they were meant to be together and they immediately started dating.
The couple tied the knot in 2021 and now, they have announced that they are ready to have a baby.
Cheryl, who has seven children and 17 grandchildren, said they ‘feel they deserve children of their own.’
Quran added: “We got married in September 2021, and it’s been a few months since we are ready to start a family.
“Cheryl is 61 and has seven children and 17 grandchildren already but we feel we deserve children of our own.”
They revealed that they tried to get pregnant but because of Cheryl’s age, they have decided to turn to adoption or surrogacy.
“We prefer surrogacy, however, we have seen a lot of people embroiled in legal complications far after the child is born,” Quran shared.
“We are looking for a nice surrogate who is willing to sign a contract to have nothing to do with the child after its born.
“We don’t want people trying to have a baby for us for financial gain, we are not that financially inclined ourselves.”
If they would choose adoption, they said that they would look for a biracial baby so the child would feel that they are his true parents.
Cheryl said that her family is supportive of their decision to have children.
“At first they were hesitant for the same reasons. However, now five of my children have come to accept the idea and my mother-in-law and I make videos together,” she added.
