A grandfather who went viral for eating half a tub of paint after mistaking it for yogurt has passed away at the age of 92.
It was in 2019 when Bobby rose to fame and became known as ‘Paint-Eating Grandpa’ after his granddaughter, Alex, shared a photo of him when he ate paint thinking it was yogurt.
Alex has now confirmed that her grandfather peacefully died in his sleep.
The heartbreaking news of the granddad’s death was announced on Instagram. His granddaughter shared an emotional statement along with photos and videos of him.
The family also expressed their gratitude for the support Bobby received from people across the globe.
“Today would’ve been Bobby’s 92nd birthday. For those who don’t know, he passed away peacefully in his sleep this June,” Alexa said as she remembered him as someone who loved making everyone laugh.
“And though he’s missed tremendously, he really did live a long, happy, healthy & fulfilling life as a doctor, musician, father, and grandfather,” the grieving granddaughter continued.
“He loved nothing more than to make people laugh, so having the internet as his audience truly meant the world to him. Huge thanks to everyone who’s supported Bobby boy over the years — I’m confident you guys will keep his legend alive.”
Heartfelt tributes have been pouring in, with fans recalling the happiness he brought to their lives.
