Lily Norton was left in critical condition after she was bitten by a dog on February 18. She underwent a 12-hour surgery and more than 1,000 stitches to close up the wounds on her face.

According to reports, the family had been dog-sitting the pit bull when the horrific incident happened. Lily’s friend had left the room to get cards that they could play with but when she came back, she screamed as the dog had Lily in its mouth.

After reconstructive surgery, the family was told that the young girl will never be able to smile again because of the severe damage to her facial muscles.

A friend of the family set up a GoFundMe page to help them with hospital expenses.

“Yesterday February 18th 2023 Lily Norton the daughter of Leo and Dorothy Norton was viciously attacked in the face by a pit bull,” the page reads.

“She was flown to Boston children’s hospital where she went a long 11 hours of extensive surgery on her face.”
