Despite their hopes that the schoolgirl could one day beat her condition and be declared cancer-free, no treatment could stop the illness from progressing and taking the girl’s life on July 11 this year.

According to mom Alina, her daughter had but one wish she wanted to fulfill before passing away – to marry her 10-year-old boyfriend Marshall Christopher ‘DJ’ Williams Junior.

With just days to live and her condition rapidly worsening, Emma and DJ’s families came together to organize an impromptu wedding that featured over one hundred guests and a venue set up in the girl’s grandmother’s garden.

“Most kids want to go to Disneyland but Emma wanted to get married, be a wife and have three kids. Their teacher spoke at their wedding and said they tried to have a wedding at recess,” Alina revealed.

“They had a bridesmaid and groomsmen and kids came to class with clip-on ties. It was really cute but the teacher said there wasn’t going to be a wedding in her class.

“When me and DJ’s mom found that out, we said we had to let them get married. It had to happen super-fast.”

Speaking of the big and emotional day, the mom added: “We threw it together in less than two days, everything ended up being donated.

“It was so precious and it came together so well. Her dad gets to say he gave her away. A friend of ours officiated, a friend read a verse from the bible and her best friend was maid of honor. Everyone got to see her who hadn’t been able to. When you have cancer, you’re secluded.”

The grieving parent went on to say her daughter was a social butterfly who was loved by everyone. She also applauded DJ for being “the sweetest soul” out there and for standing by her daughter’s side at her worst.
