A ‘Family Feud’ contestant who joked about regretting his marriage during his appearance on the show has been found guilty of his wife’s murder.
40-year-old Timothy Bliefnick was found guilty of shooting his wife Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, and one count of a home invasion.
The defense did not call any evidence and Bliefnick did not testify during the trial.
The former Family Feud contestant previously pleaded not guilty to all charges.
According to reports, a family member discovered Rebecca’s body in the bathroom of her home on February 23.
On March 13, her husband was arrested in connection to the murder.
The incident occurred amid their bitter custody battle over their three children and divorce proceedings. A divorce hearing had been scheduled a week before the mother was found shot 14 times.
Rebecca’s grieving sister, Sarah Reilly, testified that her sister told her that she was terrified that her ex-husband might physically hurt her.
“If something ever happens to me, make sure the number one person of interest is Tim,” Rebecca texted her sister in 2021.
In a statement after the ruling, the grieving family said: “As a family of faith, we are deeply thankful for our family, friends, and the complete strangers who have rallied around us and prayed for us during these incredibly dark days. We live with the hope that the worst moment of our lives cannot define who we are, as we pick up the pieces to raise Becky’s boys in the way we know she would want.”
The statement added: “While life cannot be normal in the ways it once was, such love and support does help restore the belief that the world does, in fact, have more good than evil.
“As they go forward with the certain truth that their father murdered their mother, we ask that you keep Becky’s three, incredible boys in your prayers.”
