OnlyFans star Diana ‘Coconut Kitty’ Deets has died after ‘darkness weighed down on her heart’.
It was in 2015 when Deets started her social media account and would often say that she was 24 – a number that she had mentioned for years.
She gained more than 5.4 million Instagram followers, frequently posting photos with celebrities including Austin Butler, Adam Sandler, and John Savage.
The Instagram star reportedly battled with her mental health, and her depression worsened due to criticism she experienced because of her work.
Deets reportedly came under fire for her edited photos that were perceived to ‘bait’ pedos.
But in a 2021 interview with Rolling Stone, the OnlyFans model justified her decisions and said that she created her ‘character’ to distance herself from her work.
“I wanted to make something that looked like a real-life anime character — small chin, big eyes — that was made in my likeness, because I use a picture of myself and I edit it,” she said.
In a heartbreaking statement on Instagram, it was confirmed that she ended her life on February 12.
“Last Sunday, Coconut took her own life. It’s unfair. Life isn’t fair. We wish you guys could get to know her the way her friends and family did. She was such a light to this world, truly, she was always glowing,” it read.
“You could never slow that girl down. She was so hard headed and strong, but also just so kind. With the biggest heart we have ever known. She was always trying to lift everyone up around her, she wanted everyone to win.”
The statement outlined Deets’ character, describing her as a creative woman who had a contagious energy for life.
It also revealed that her family and friends wished they “could have taken some of the darkness that was weighing on her heart.”
“Above all she loved her kids and being a mom. Her kids were her whole world. She was devoted to them and she wanted to make sure that they were loved. And they were so loved,” it added.
