NFL star Damar Hamlin has finally spoken out after conspiracy theorists claimed that he passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest and has been secretly replaced by a clone.
It was on January 2 when the 24-year-old suddenly collapsed at the Paycor Stadium while playing for the Buffalo Bills against the Cincinnati Bengals.
After the horrifying incident, he was placed on a ventilator and has since made a miraculous recovery.
On January 28, Hamlin took to social media and shared a video to thank fans for their support and love.
But conspiracy theorists were quick to claim that Hamlin passed away after the incident and that he has been replaced by a look-alike.
According to the BBC, the wild allegation is being made by anti-vaxxers who believed that the covid vaccine contributed to the player’s cardiac arrest event though it wasn’t known if Hamlin had received it or not.
One person who spread rumors was Stew Peters, one of the creators of the documentary Died Suddenly.
Hamlin’s representative, Jordon Rooney, slammed conspiracy theorists who claimed that the video the NFL star shared was fake.
“Possible explanations for why the video was spliced up: A) Damar had 100 people to thank and stopped several times throughout to make sure he named everyone B) It’s fake and/or he’s a clone.”
Hamlin has also spoken out and shared a photo of him standing next to a mural of himself.
He wrote: “Clone” a ninja emoji.
Last week, the Buffalo Bills shared a video of Hamlin at the stadium where he was cheered by fans but it still didn’t stop conspiracy theorists. One person wrote: “When I watched that yesterday, my immediate that was this is crazy I don’t think that’s him. Why is he not showing his face? This just seems odd.”
Another said: “The entire NFL has to sign a NDA and will never be able to tell you the truth.”
