A couple with a baby were kicked off an American Airlines flight after many passengers complained about the foul smell coming out of their bodies.
The family now claims that they were unjustly removed from the flight because of what the crews described as ‘bad body odor.’
Yossi Adler and his wife Jennie claimed that they were subjected to humiliation.
In an interview with WPLG Local 10 News, the father insisted that either he nor his family had a foul odor.
“All of a sudden, as soon as they took us off, they closed the gate and then they said, ‘Sorry sir, some people complained you had body odor and we’re not letting you back on.’”
Jennie also said that she was shocked by how they were treated, saying that they even stopped some people at the airport to ask if they had an offensive odor.
After they were removed from the flight, the couple claimed they were told that their luggage would be returned to them but it did not happen.
They were left with only the available items they carried. Their baby’s essential items, including stroller and car seat, were still in the plane.
In a statement after the family’s expulsion from the aircraft, American Airlines said: “Mr. Adler and his wife were removed from the flight when several passengers complained about their body odor. They have been booked into a hotel for the night and given meal vouchers.
“They have been rebooked on a flight Thursday.”
Despite the explanation from the airline, Yossi accused the company of discrimination.
In a video filmed at the airport, the father can be heard telling staff: “There’s a religious reason for some reason that they’re kicking me off the plane. We don’t have odor, ok? Nobody here has odor.”
