Two conjoined twins have shared details about their personal relationships, including how they manage to make intimacy work as one of them is as*xual while the other has a boyfriend.
Carmen and Lupita Andrade share a pelvis as well as a reproductive system, making their life journey extraordinary.
Because of their rare condition, they experience bizarre challenges but it won’t stop them from reaching their goals.
Carmen is studying to become a veterinary nurse and Lupita wants to become a comedy writer.
Born in 2002, the conjoined twins defied all odds as they managed to surpass doctors’ expectations. They spent years of physical therapy to help them achieve significant milestones, such as taking their first steps and sitting up.
Speaking to Today, the twins shared more details about their intimate lives, with Carmen revealing that she has been in a relationship with her boyfriend, Daniel, for more than two years.
“Daniel was different right from the start,” she said. “He never focused on my condition, which is something that sets him apart.
“Dealing with social anxiety, I’ve had to cancel dates at the last minute, but with Daniel, I felt an unusual calmness.”
Lupita has not posed any problems for the couple, with Carmen explaining that her boyfriend and twin get along well.
“It’s funny because I stay up later than Lupita, but when Daniel sleeps over, I fall asleep quickly – and he stays up talking with her,” she went on.
To make sure that Lupita also feels valued and included, they often let her pick their dinner venues and meeting spots.
When the discussion changed to starting a family, Carmen revealed that their medical conditions make it impossible for her to conceive.
