Chris Pratt, 43, has shared how Jesus inspires him to ignore haters criticizing his faith.
The actor revealed that it was Jesus who helps him to continue with his life despite being subjected to criticism from haters and trolls.
In an interview with Page Six, the Jurassic World star discussed his religious views and said that he has been ridiculed for being open about his faith.
During the Cinema Society screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the actor told the outlet: “I sure do but that’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know?”
He also used a Bible quote and said: “If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20.
“That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too.”
Pratt said his faith has become a talking point after he delivered a speech at the MTV Movie & TV Awards in 2018.
When he received the Generation Award during that event, he ended his speech with: “God is real. God loves you. God wants the best for you.”
Recalling the moment in an interview with Men’s Health, the actor said that he did not know that he would become the ‘face of religion’ as he was not a religious individual.
“I think there’s a distinction between being religious — adhering to the customs created by man, oftentimes appropriating the awe reserved for who I believe is a very real God — and using it to control people, to take money from people, to abuse children, to steal land, to justify hatred,” he expressed.
The star added: “Whatever it is. The evil that’s in the heart of every single man has glommed on to the back of religion and come along for the ride.”
