Caitlyn Jenner SPEAKS OUT After Trans Swimmers Are BANNED From Competing Against Women

Caitlyn Jenner has reacted to the ban on trans swimmers after an international governing body ruled that transgender women are to be blocked from competing in women’s races.

Following trans swimmer Lia Thomas’ controversial win in the 500-yard freestyle in March, critics demanded trans women are banned from competing against biological females over their alleged physical advantage.

FINA, an international sports federation, has since reached 71.5% voting in favor of banning trans women who underwent male puberty from competing in women’s races.

While trans individuals who transitioned before the age of 12 could still qualify in female competitions, those who transitioned after their bodies underwent male puberty transformation will no longer be allowed to professionally compete against other women.

Following the ban, Caitlyn Jenner, who won a gold medal in the decathlon at the 1976 Olympics long before her transition in 2015, has spoken out and weighed in on the ban.

“It worked! I took a lot of heat – but what’s fair is fair! If you go through male puberty you should not be able to take medals away from females. Period,” she wrote on Sunday.

She added: “Thanks to all of you that stood with me as I talked about what should be obvious (not anti-lgbt but common sense). I am glad the international athletics community is speaking out. I will continue to speak out, act and advocate, for women in sports.”

The former KUWTK star who transitioned in 2015 previously also took a jab at Lia Thomas after the latter won the NCAA championship.

“[She was] playing within the rules. What I’ve said from the beginning [is] the rules aren’t tough enough. Just being on testosterone depressants for a year or two, whatever the rules are now, they keep changing, obviously, it is not enough,” Jenner said in a Fox News interview back in March.

“Lia Thomas just dominated in the pool, and I’m sure she took it quite easily because she did not want to win by too much.

“I think she was probably taking it very easy in the race because she knew the world was watching, and she’s just going to go fast enough to be able to win the race.”
