The final words of the bride who was killed just hours after her dream wedding have been revealed.
36-year-old Samantha Hutchinson suffered fatal injuries when 25-year-old drunk driver Jamie Lee Komoroski plowed into the golf cart the bride and her husband, Aric, were riding in just hours after their wedding.
Aric has since the shocking incident at Folly Beach in California been discharged from the hospital to continue his recovery from home and plan his wife’s funeral together with the young woman’s family.
As the preparations for the heart-wrenching funeral are underway, Samantha’s sister, Mandi Jenkins, spoke out and revealed what her sibling’s last words were.
“She looked at him [Aric] on the golf cart and said ‘I want this day to last forever,’” she told The Today Show.
Recalling the beautiful ceremony and the moments leading to the fatal crash was also Sam’s mother, Lisa Miller, who said: “My first thought was that Sam finally has the love that she always wanted.”
The tragic reveal comes just a day after Sam and Aric’s families held a memorial for the late bride at her favorite place in the world – the beach.
“She would’ve loved it. This is Sam, she’s a beach girl, through and through. We do walk here almost every morning, and this is her send off for sure. She’s up there smiling for sure,” the grieving husband said as he attended the memorial in a wheelchair.
Speaking of his recovery, he added: “I’m feeling pretty good. My body’s getting back to where I can manage.
“It’s a little overwhelming, they’re sincere, genuine, good-hearted people that are just reaching out that felt a reason to, or somehow they were touched by Sam. It just means the world. She left that impact.”
Our thoughts remain with Sam’s loved ones as they brace for the final send-off.
