Actor Brad Pitt allegedly ‘choked’ one of his children, ‘slapped’ another, and slammed Angelina Jolie against a wall during a heated argument on a private jet, a new lawsuit filed by the actress claims.
The ‘Maleficent’ star claims her ex-husband’s behavior on the flight from France to California in 2016 left her with injuries to her elbow and back and left their children traumatized.
Days after the incident, she immediately filed for divorce.
Jolie claims that Pitt ‘had a confrontation’ with one of their children before arriving at the airport.
When she asked him on the plane what the problem was, he “accused her of being too deferential to the children and verbally attacked her.”
The actress also alleges that her ex-husband sought her out and reprimanded her.
“He pulled her into the bathroom and began yelling at her,” the court documents state. “Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall.
“Pitt then punched the ceiling of the plane numerous times, prompting Jolie to leave the bathroom.”
Jolie also claims that when one of their children tried to defend her, Pitt ‘lunged’ at the child.
“Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face. Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened. Many were crying,” the explosive court documents added.
In September 2021, Jolie sold her shares in the French winery she co-owned with the ‘Bullet Train’ star. He then sued her but the ‘By the Sea’ actress counter-sued and blamed him for starting the highly-public mudslinging.
Jolie’s attorneys wrote: “She has gone to great lengths to try to shield their children from reliving the pain Pitt inflicted on the family that day.
“But when Pitt filed this lawsuit seeking to reassert control over Jolie’s financial life and compel her to rejoin her ex-husband as a frozen-out business partner, Pitt forced Jolie to publicly defend herself on these issues for the first time.”
Jolie said that when they acquired the winery Chateau Miraval in 2008, their representatives discussed signing an agreement that set out the terms of how it would be split if they separated.
However, she said that her ex-husband didn’t want an agreement.
The actress accused Pitt of failing to consult her on the development of the estate and having a fifth swimming pool installed but she did not object at that time.
“Jolie had always taken an active role in design for any home she had lived in (and those she has since lived in), and when she and Pitt purchased the chateau, initially expected to do the same for their new home,” Jolie’s lawyers said.
“If Jolie ever questioned such expenditures, Pitt defended them as critical to his vision for the chateau,” they added.
