Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin, the officer accused of George Floyd’s death, wants all of his murder charges dropped.
And that’s because he says the Black Man died ‘due to drugs.’
According to reports, the cop requested the judge to dismiss all of the charges against him. Floyd died due to ‘drugs in his system,’ he claims. Moreover, he simply refuses to believe that his kneeling on Floyd’s neck for 9 minutes, has anything to do with it.
The shocking revelations come in light of the prosecutor’s recent comments. According to them, the cops inflicted ‘gratuitous pain.’ Meanwhile, they’re also pushing for a longer prison sentence for the criminals.
Despite all the accusations from the defense side, a second autopsy report also confirmed how the Black Man died from asphyxiation. And that’s because Chauvin restricted his main breathing points, the airways.

And that’s exactly why his attorney recently filed a new motion in court that declared his innocence.point 87 | Moreover, the motion described how there was little to no support to show that Chauvin was responsible for George Floyd’s death.point 197 | 1
Meanwhile, it also stated how there was baseless evidence for any of the first, second, and third-degree murder charges that were pinned against him.
However, the motion did shed light on how Floyd’s system was full of drugs and that was the most probably reasoning for his death. Chauvin pressed his knee against Floyd’s neck for around 9 minutes.
The motion claims, ‘Mr. Floyd couldn’t breathe properly because he ingested too much fentanyl, in lethal doses.’
Recent filing tries to hold drugs responsible for George Floyd’s death
Other than that, the recent court filing also held a number of other conditions in light of Floyd’s death. This includes sickle cell anemia, COVID-19, and heart disease too. Above all, it claims how the drugs could possibly enhance all of these conditions.
The 44-year-old cop received charges in the month of June, when Floyd, an armed man, died in police custody. It all took place on Memorial Day, leading to a widespread outrage of anger and protests for his innocent killing.
Meanwhile, startling footage clearly showed how the Minneapolis cop kneeled on the black man’s neck. And that’s when he helplessly cried for help, ‘I can’t breathe.’
The second autopsy report confirms George Floyd’s death occurred due to Derek Chauvin’s kneeling

Here, there was no sign of death due to drugs. In fact, it clearly confirmed how the death occurred due to the blockage of airways from Chauvin’s kneeling.
Due to the slight aberrations between the autopsy and initial reports, there’s a lot of speculation surrounding the case now. Moreover, a medical expert by the name of Dr. Andrew Baker, revealed how the fentanyl levels in Floyd’s system were sufficient to reveal his death.
The motion claims Chauvin had no idea that Floyd couldn’t breathe
Furthermore, the recent court filing also shed light on how Derek Chauvin had zero clues that the suspect couldn’t breathe.point 276 |
