Former US President, Barack Obama revealed to viewers about his recent quarantine guest.
To many people’s surprise, it was none other than his daughter Malia’s boyfriend. Yes, he dished out plenty of private family secrets and it surely took listeners by surprise.
He revealed the recent family experience for the famous Bill Simmons podcast. Released on Thursday, viewers couldn’t get enough of the ex-president’s hilarious comments. This includes teaching all the kids a trick or two about a game of spades. In the same way, he talked about his new family guest’s chemistry and how much he adores food too.

Obama comes clean about quarantine
It’s no surprise that Barack is one of the most popular US presidents of all time. From his humble nature to his hilarious jokes, this father is the epitome of role models. For this reason, it’s not surprising why all of America loves him, Michelle, and the entire family as a whole.
Serving as the perfect guest for a recent podcast, Obama did his level best to reveal details about his quarantine. Answering light-hearted questions from host Bill Simmons, Obama revealed it all. And that includes who the family hosted as a special guest during the recent quarantine period.
The family welcomes special guest
For those who may not be aware, Malia’s boyfriend stayed over at the famous residence recently. And he surely made himself cozy. Rory Farquharson did a little quarantine stopover, during the initial stages of the pandemic.
Just like other American families, this family also quarantined during mid-march. He explained how the whole episode began when Rory had a visa job setup and that’s when the family decided to take him in.
Welcoming him with open arms, they made him feel right at home. In the same way, Obama explains how he never intended to like him. However, he had no choice because that’s how great of a man he was. “He’s a good kid,” he explained boldly.
Private secrets go public
The former president explains how he enjoyed teaching numerous card games to both his daughters and Farquharson. After that, he tested them with several games of Spades too. All in all, it was a fun-filled and enlightening experience for them all.
But the fun really began when the former leader shed some light on Malia’s boyfriend’s dietary habits. This is the point in time where he revealed how young men eat a lot, pointing fingers at Rory’s huge appetite.
And then he followed up his statement with how his grocery bills shot up greatly. Think along the lines of an increase of 30%. Certainly, he wasn’t expecting anything of the sort and that’s probably why it shocked him even more.
After this recent experience, the ex-president revealed how he saw a new side to his daughter’s boyfriend. It was very different from what he was accustomed to seeing on a usual basis.
Obama reveals the joy of spending family time
“It’s actually a blessing to be able to spend time with my daughters,” he explained. Since they’ve passed their teen years, spending time with them is so much more fun, he exclaimed. The family enjoyed quality time by doing arts and crafts and having game nights.
For him, there is nothing better than looking at the quarantine period with a positive lens. This was surely an unexpected time he got to spend with his kids. And one he’ll cherish forever.
As far as Malia’s boyfriend is concerned, the pair met in 2017. Therefore, that was while they were attending Harvard together. News sources confirmed how Farquharson comes from a well established and educated family. His father is an accountant as well as chief executive for an investment firm.
