Obama CANCELS Star-Studded 60th Birthday Bash Amid Rising COVID Criticisms


Former President Barack Obama reportedly scaled back his massive and much talked about 60th birthday bash after facing a growing number of criticisms regarding the spread of the Delta variant.

Obama made news last week when details about his star-studded party at the Martha Vineyard went viral with a guest list comprising of some of the biggest names from Hollywood. Initially, the party was planned for more than 500 attendees but now, inside sources claim that the family significantly scaled back the event to just close family and friends.

The new change was confirmed by the former President’s spokesperson who explained the reason being the new and alarming spread of the Delta variant that took place this past week.

The former President faced plenty of criticism over his event with many calling the party an insensitive move at the wrong timing because the rate of COVID breakthrough cases in vaccinated people rose to alarming rates.

Moreover, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki also defended Obama’s superspreader event, explaining how ‘we certainly do not advise anyone to hold such big events and instead, follow all guidelines relating to public health.’

The major celebration was originally scheduled to take place in Obama’s massive luxe mansion called the Martha’s Vineyard waterfront mansion. Worth a staggering $12 million and spanning over 30 acres, the event’s guest list included some of the biggest names such as George Clooney and Oprah Winfrey too.

While the guest list had 500 people, the staff involved around 200 members as well.

This is certainly not the first time that the Obama’s have planned such a high profile and grand event. For Obama’s 50th birthday celebrations, the event was just as grand and also included a much-talked-about list of guests. This includes Beyonce, Jay-Z, Chris Rock, Stevie Wonder, and a number of other notable names from the world of entertainment as well as politics.

However, this time around, Barack Obama knew that the time just wasn’t right. And that’s why he canceled the event, staying true to his grounded and humble principles that he’s been well renowned for over the years.
